Introduction

With the implementation of the clearing and settlement for both cash and securities book-entry system and the opening of margin purchases and short sale funding business, investors increase the demand of margin trading transaction information to be recorded on securities passbooks. On July 15, 2003, the 2nd Board of Directors of Taiwan Securities Association of the 16th meeting passed the needed that TDCC provides services such as put margin purchase and short sale transaction records on passbooks, voice inquiry function and prepare stock ownership register in accordance with hold securities trade on margin or short sale. On May 5, 2004, the Financial Supervisory Commission agreed for TDCC put the details of margin trading transaction changes and the balance information on securities passbook since November 29, 2004. It makes investors’ account updates and transaction status clearly and asset management more convenient through put the normal and margin trading transaction information together on the securities passbook.
