2016/10/20
In order to improve convenience in voting rights execution at shareholders’ meetings, TDCC set up Stockvote, the electronic voting platform with high market credibility. Investors could attend shareholders’ meetings via e-voting , which drastically improved corporate governance efficiency. Hence, the brilliant achievement from Stockvote not only won acclaim from global market but also received international invitations for sharing this experience.
Chairman& CEO Sherman Lin was pleased to point out that the promotion and execution of e-voting was a great success. TDCC was invited to introduce Taiwan’s latest development and achievement of e-voting at the 18th cross training meeting. In the previous year, Vietnamese CSD also visited TDCC for e-voting related training and experience sharing. Vietnamese CSD also established their e-voting system this year. In September, TDCC staff were invited to attend shareholders’ conference of PT Kustodian Sentral Efek Indonesia (KSEI) and to introduce Taiwan’s e-voting development. Following that was KSEI's visit in October, which aimed for further research and discussion on e-voting . In addition, Korea Securities Depository has also invited TDCC staff to its international corporate governance conference in November so as to introduce current status and achievement of Taiwan’s e-voting . It’s clear that Taiwan’s e-voting has already won worldwide recognition.
In 2015, TDCC successfully developed Stockvote, the first electronic voting system app in the world, whose voting interface was based on mobile devices such as smart phones and tablet computers. A new function connecting Stockvote to Securities Company Order App was further launched this year; it has also been adopted by Yuanta Securities and other 25 securities companies. Investors could buy and sell stocks through Securities Company Order App and conduct e-voting at shareholders’ meetings.
In the future TDCC plans to combine Stockvote and Mobile Passbook to integrate push notification services on e-voting , material information, and stock information to provide even more efficient and convenient services.
