2019/06/05
Taiwan Depository & Clearing Corporation (TDCC) has been a long-term sponsor for primary and middle schools in Hualien. The nine schools organized a Join Concert: TDCC 30 Keeps Going in the afternoon on June 2 at the concert hall of the Hualien County Indigenous Museum. The sponsored schools demonstrated their learning achievements with excellent performances. They also showed their gratitude to TDCC for helping schools in rural areas.
Nine schools sponsored by TDCC for years performed on stage one by one, including Yichang Junior High School, Beichang Elementary School, Chunghua Elementary School, Ji-An Elementary School, Jian Ching Elementary School, Xikou Elementary School, Fuyuan Elementary School, Fenglin Elementary School, and the Experimental Primary School of National Dong Hwa University. The performance contained a variety of musical instruments and dances, including Chinese orchestra, cajón, xylophone, drum dance, erhu, djembe, ukulele, string orchestra, tap dance, street dance, badminton dance, and Flamenco. The last piece was performed by all the students of the nine schools, singing We Are Family together. The ambiance was very touching and lively, drawing a perfect conclusion for the concert.
For a long time, TDCC has dedicated to caring for society. TDCC proactively fulfills the society’s needs by nurturing financial talents, facilitating education in rural areas, and caring for the underprivileged. Since 2015, TDCC has provided multiple learning resources to elementary schools in Hualien such as Xikou, Beichang, and Chunghua. By doing this, students can expand their learning scope and achievements. The musical teams of the three schools were founded and developed with the help of TDCC. Students who are interested in music can have the opportunity to learn music. TDCC believes in the equality of opportunity in education, so TDCC makes donations to help realize this belief. In recent years, TDCC has sponsored sports teams at several schools, including archery, badminton, and inline speed skating, providing children with more learning choices.
Moreover, TDCC will visit students at the schools they sponsor in Hualien every year. Three years in a row, concerts were held in Hualien and children could perform confidently, showing their talent to the fullest. These performances have become precious memories. This year happened to be the 30th birthday of TDCC, so the concert was even grander. The audience could sense the joy when children were performing because they were growing. The credit goes to the faculty members at these schools and the parents of the children. They’ve worked very hard, and they’ve been the greatest supporters and participants. As a result, students are gaining an excellent learning experience. TDCC will keep fulfilling its corporate social responsibility (CSR) and painting a better picture of the future for children in rural areas.
