Pre-Employment Financial Charity Program for University Students Kicks Off

The 5th Pre-Employment Financial Charity Program for University Students, organized by TDCC, commenced in ten classes among nine universities simultaneously throughout the island on September 21. There were 620 senior students from 51 colleges and universities enrolling in this program.
Wellington L. Koo, Chairman of FSC, attended the opening ceremony at National Taipei University and encouraged the student trainees. As Chairman Koo pointed out, the objective of this professional training program was to incorpoate core business capacities of peripheral institutes in securities and finance to contruct a new path for disadvantaged students to “flip life, fulfill financial dream” and to make contribution to society with the knowledge they acquire. The program not only emphasized cultivation of financial talents but also incorporated charity and education.
According to President of TDCC, Han-Chiang Zhu, in response to FSC’s implementation of corporate social responsibilities and ideal of the financial sector devoting to charity, since 2015, concerned organizations in finance, securities, and futures have integrated resources and held Pre-Employment Financial Charity Program for University Students. The program is designed exclusively for university students with disadvantaged domestic financial situation; it provides systematic and professional financial training to assist students in passing exams for professional certificates and strengthening their competitive edges for employment. Job placement will be offered after the training so that students and their families can benefit from stable employment. Through the financial training program, students’ life will be elevated, and businesses’ talents will be developed and fostered. As a social enterprise, TDCC’s value and responsibilities are both promoted.
The Pre-Employment Financial Charity Program for University Students lasts from September 2019 to March 2020. All of the training courses take place on weekends, totaling 170 hours. Lunch, books, handouts, and allowances for life as well as exam registration are provided by the organizer. Students will be assisted in preparing for certificate exams; practices in finance and work experience will also be shared during the training. In the new school year, peripheral organizations in finance, securities, and futures will work closely with program organizers to achieve optimal benefits.
