This year, TDCC collaborated with Cloud Gate Culture and Arts Foundation for the first time. The project “2020 Dancing Dandelions” was initiated to extend the grace of dance to the elementary schools in rural Hualian, allowing the seeds of art and culture to take root.

The project “Dancing Dandelions” took place in 20 elementary schools successively in rural Hualian. Sherman Lin, TDCC Chairman & CEO, especially made time for the dance on June 11th in Xilin Elementary School in Wanrong Township to witness the enthusiasm of the school children; the dancing dandelions have indeed started flying.

As Mr. Sherman Lin points out, since the establishment of Cloud Gate Dance Company, over 1,700 performances have taken place on more than 200 stages worldwide. Through the outstanding dance profession and boundless creativity, Cloud Gate has connected Taiwan’s culture to the world, winning global compliments and undoubtedly becoming the honor of Taiwan. This year, for the purpose of developing art activities in rural areas, TDCC worked with Cloud Gate for the first time to carry out a series of “Dancing Dandelions” projects. Under the guidance of Cloud Gate’s big brothers and sisters, who are also professional dancers, children can learn about the history of dance and experience the fascination of body rhythm.

TDCC has been providing care for society and culture for an extended period of time, actively responding to society’s needs from three main aspects: “foster future financial talents,” “promote rural education,” and “care for the underprivileged.” Besides, TDCC is deeply involved in school development in Hualian. Since 2015, the company has been sponsoring after-school programs in three elementary schools in Hualian: Zhonghua, Beichang, and Xikou. Since 2016, TDCC’s sponsorship has extended to the archery teams of Jian elementary school, archery team of Jianqing elementary school, and the badminton team of Yichang junior high school; all the projects are still in progress. TDCC is convinced that the opportunities for education should be equal, and therefore the company has been actively promoting charitable donation, with its personnel carrying out this ideal in person. As equal opportunities for education become a reality, children’s learning potential can be expanded.

Mr. Sherman Lin further indicates that the project of “Dancing Dandelions” cherishes the belief of “Go to the places hard to reach and sow!” Dance is like the seeds of dandelions wafting in the sky: wherever the wind blows, the seeds go, and the beauty manifests itself. TDCC will continue to cooperate with Cloud Gate and spread the love through “Dancing Dandelions,” sowing the seeds of beauty and inspiration in many people’s hearts.
