Live streaming platform now provides shareholders new option to attend annual general meeting
2021/08/04
The threat of COVID-19 remains real, and people should not drop their guard. To keep everyone safe, investors are advised to avoid large crowds. Thanks to continued development of digital technology, TDCC is ready to embrace challenges from the capital market. Given the policies of competent authorities, TDCC rolled out a brand new live streaming platform for shareholder meetings to allow investors to participate in meetings online, including raising questions and voting, which represents a major step forward for Taiwan’s corporate governance.
The live streaming platform was open to user application between July 14th and 31st. As of the end of July, TDCC received applications from a score of companies, including AUO (2409), Chia Hsin Cement (1103), Mercuries Life (2867), Taiyen Biotech (1737), Systex (6214), TaiMed Biologics (4147), Global Lighting Technologies (4935), Ta Ching Securities (6021), Mitake Information (8284), and IISI (6614), which have been approved by their board of directors with formal announcements made on the Market Observation Post System.
TDCC President Han-Chiang Chu said 2021 marks the debut of TDCC’s shareholder meeting live streaming platform, and TDCC will pull out all the stops to make sure that the platform runs smoothly. This is an excellent opportunity to show the world the innovation of Taiwanese businesses even in the face of the epidemic, in terms of ensuring good communication between shareholders and companies and preventing COVID-19 from spreading. Digital technology allows zero in-person contact, and is safe and convenient to use. TDCC has created a live streaming platform section on its official website, where step-by-step user instruction videos are provided to help investors figure out how to attend shareholder meetings online.
Shareholders of the aforementioned companies who have not voted online or appointed a proxy may register with the platform between August 6th and four days before the shareholder meeting date via three channels:
(1) TDCC’s ePassbook application: go to the front page (my asset) and look for “Shareholder Meeting Live Streaming Platform” under the “eStockvote” express function tab;
(2) Brokerage’s stock trading application: select “e-Voting” and “Shareholder Meeting Live Streaming Platform” to be directed to the registration page. (A list of compatible brokerage applications is available on TDCC’s e-Stockvote website); and
(3) TDCC’s “e-Stockvote” website: visit as “general shareholder” and select a certificate you want to sign in with. Afterwards, select “Shareholder Meeting Live Streaming Platform.” As a natural person, one may sign in with any of the followings—a natural person certificate, brokerage online trading certificate or netbanking certificate.
For more information about the live streaming platform, please call the Shareholder Service Department of TDCC at (02) 2719-5805 ext. 188, 109, 222, 427 and 341.
