The presentation ceremony of the 15th Arts and Business Awards of the Ministry of Culture was held on January 25 in recognition of the contribution of individuals and businesses to preserving and promoting the arts and culture of Taiwan. TDCC won the silver award, and President Chu Han-Chiang received the award on behalf of the company at the presentation ceremony.

To encourage companies and individuals to support arts in creative and various ways, the Ministry of Culture created the Arts and Business Awards, which are presented every other year since 1998 to companies, nonprofit organizations and individuals that have made substantial contribution to the preservation and promotion of Taiwan’s arts and culture. By presenting the awards, the ministry hopes to facilitate public-private collaboration in building a quality environment that nurtures creativity and innovation in a bid to make arts more accessible to everyone.

President Chu said TDCC has long been committed to fulfilling its corporate social responsibility (CSR), and starting 2017, the company has expanded the scope of its CSR to arts and culture by sponsoring local artists in Taiwan, hoping to contribute to the development of local culture and betterment of the society.

TDCC pays attention to the development of various arts in Taiwan, and aims to encourage art creation while cultivating aesthetic taste at grass-root level at the same time. As part of the efforts to support aesthetic education in rural areas, TDCC has sponsored the Dandelion Program of the Cloud Gate Foundation to perform artistic dance for rural school students. TDCC also sponsored the A-Gou Kids, an a cappella vocal band, and Vox Nativa aboriginal music school. Furthermore, TDCC organized several contemporary arts events to provide a performance stage for local young artists. TDCC is honored to be awarded the Arts and Business Awards and will continue its efforts to help promote and develop Taiwan’s arts and culture.

TDCC will keep sponsoring local artists and contributing to aesthetic education, combining art creation and CSR, to ensure sustainable development of arts in Taiwan.
