2022 TDCC Contemporary Art Awards, Echoing the Voices of the Era
2022/09/21
TDCC, the primary back office of Taiwan's capital market, has been actively carrying out the financial inclusion vision of innovation, resilience, and sustainability. Besides, the company has been devoted to diverse ESG development. To support Taiwan's art and culture, the company has set up the "2022 TDCC Contemporary Art Awards" with one spot for gold, silver, and bronze medal each and eight spots for the quality award. The cash prize for the gold medal is NTD 400,000, the silver medal NTD 200,000, the bronze medal NTD 150,000, and the quality award NTD 50,000. The company cordially invites all young Taiwanese artists to contend for the award.
The contemporary artist Xu Bing says, "Artists have to respond to contemporary issues in an artistic fashion." That's why TDCC expects to provide a stage in Taiwan for young generations' creations through the TDCC Contemporary Art Awards. This also lets us reflex on contemporary art's meaning in this era. Through artists' expression of their attitudes toward the society, the features of the culture can be delineated to echoe the voices of the times.
In this digital age, speed is the king. However, art can slow down time and put minds at rest. Art is the essence of life; it not only reflects the change in the outside world but also presents the observation of the inner world. In addition to the large cash prizes from this year's art awards, the evaluation committee will recommend the winning artists for sponsorships and solo or group exhibitions in an art gallery. This shows that the company supports art and culture development in various ways.
As Chairman Han-Chiang Chu emphasizes, TDCC has been deeply devoted to the core financial field and the ongoing care for culture and society. Through the three principal aspects, "foster future financial talents," "promote rural education," and "provide care for the underprivileged," the company has been actively addressing society's needs for art, culture, physical education, education, and social care. The company hopes to elevate the society through a "charitable ecosystem" and create a joint effort for common prosperity and common good in Taiwan.
