2024/07/01

The "eMeeting Platform" (eMeeting) of TDCC for shareholders' meetings with video conference reached a milestone this year with 109 TWSE-listed, TPEx-listed, and emerging companies using the platform. Over 3,000 shareholders registered, spanning industries such as finance, semiconductors, and manufacturing, actively responding to the Financial Supervisory Commission's (FSC) sustainable development goals. With guidance from the FSC and full support from TDCC, hybrid shareholders' meetings were successfully conducted.

To assess the usage of hybrid shareholders' meetings, Chairman Bing-Huei Lin of TDCC personally visited the Ruentex Industries Co., Ltd. on June 27 to observe a hybrid shareholders' meeting. Bing-Hui Lin stated that with the FSC’s guidance and market-wide support, all functions of the shareholders' meeting video conferencing platform operated smoothly this year. This not only aligns with international digital trends and domestic demands but also allows shareholders to watch live broadcasts online, ask questions, and vote. This year, foreign shareholders also participated via video, enhancing corporate governance in Taiwan through comprehensive digital transformation of shareholders' meetings.

During the peak season of shareholders' meetings, with multiple companies holding meetings simultaneously, TDCC established a "Mobile Situation Room" to monitor and ensure the smooth operation of video conferences in real-time. The highest record saw up to 13 companies holding meetings simultaneously. After each shareholders' meeting, the TDCC collected feedback from companies and their shareholder services agent to continuously improve digital shareholder services. Following the final video-assisted shareholders' meeting at Oriental Securities on June 28, the eMeeting platform concluded a successful season.
