As former Chairman of TDCC Mr. Ding, Kung-Wha took office as Chairman of Taipei Exchange, TDCC board meeting was held today (Jan 4), and Board of Director Sherman Lin has been elected as Chairman & CEO, Meng, Ching-Li as President.

Sherman Lin, the newly-appointed Chairman & CEO, worked as President of TDCC for the previous eight years, and his major achievements are as follows:

  1. Promoting dematerialization of securities, this ushered in a new era of Taiwanese securities history;
  2. Planning and establishing Taiwan Stock Museum, actively creating a platform for financial literacy and education promotion;
  3. Implementing E-Voting platform, strengthening corporate governance in Taiwan;
  4. Setting up cross-border STP system, offering standardized and automatic processing services to board of shareholders, which drastically improved custodian banks’ processing efficiency and reduced operation costs and risks;
  5. Promoting information and payment services for off-shore funds as well as the custody and settlement services for professional organizations’ investments in foreign securities. All of the above not only reinforce the link between local and global capital markets but will also lead TDCC to the next stage of internationalization.

TDCC held a handover ceremony to honor Mr. Sherman Lin (right) to take office as Chairman & CEO of TDCC.

The new president Meng, Ching-Li has been with TDCC for nearly two decades, and he has considerable experience in the field of securities and capital market. During his term of office as Senior Executive Vice President, he assisted Sherman Lin, who then worked as the president of TDCC, with supervision over all aspects of company business. His activeness and expertise will definitely achieve excellence in the future development and prosperity of TDCC.
