TDCC's Fund Clear Brings Investors Fund Information Within One Click

2018/03/16

Data of January 2018 showed that total offshore fund assets amounted to NT$350 billion and onshore NT$350 billion, indicating that mutual funds have already become one of the major financial management products. However, the platform investors inquired offshore fund information on was TDCC’s Offshore Fund Reporting and Announcement Platform, and the one they inquired onshore funds information on was the official website of Securities Investment Trust & Consulting Association of The R.O.C. (SITCA). They needed to visit Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE)’s Market Observation Post System (MOPS) for statutory prospectus and financial report. There wasn’t a single website for the inquiry about complete information of both offshore and onshore funds. To provide investors with more comprehensive and convenient fund inquiry services, TDCC actively cooperated with SITCA to arrange and establish an integrated portal site for onshore and offshore fund information—“Fund Clear” ( www.fundclear.com.tw). Through this portal, investors can gain one single access to all onshore and offshore fund information on the market.

TDCC set up Offshore Fund Information Reporting and Announcement Platform in 2005, and in the following year the company established Futures Trust Fund Information Announcement Platform, providing investors with information of offshore and futures trust funds. For a portal with integrated onshore and offshore inquiry services, TDCC employed the operation interface and user mode from the original Offshore Fund Information Announcement Platform, gained insights from SITCA and TWSE, and integrated advice from Fund companies for development of “Onshore Fund Information Reporting and Announcement Platform.” TDCC compared onshore and offshore funds’ report and announcement items, methods and contents; at the same time, the company adopted investors’ perspective for visual design as well as website function and simplified the selection menu as well. TDCC also simultaneously adjusted webpages of “Offshore Fund Information Announcement Platform” and “Futures and Trust Fund Information Announcement Platform,” placing all the Information Announcement Platforms links on the front page of portal “Fund Clear.” The portal offers investors fund announcement inquiry services in an even more user-friendly mode.

TDCC’s upgraded Fund Clear officially went online on March 12, 2017. Through the portal site (www.fundclear.com.tw) and its thoughtful interface, investors can efficiently acquire comprehensive information of onshore and offshore funds, including monthly data of beneficiary form, fund category, investment area, dominated currency statistics. Besides, all the information of onshore funds and offshore funds domestically approved for raise and sale, prospectus, investors’ notice, dividends and other investment documentation are also provided. Investors can also inquire about change of net value and trend chart, which significantly increase efficiency and convenience in fund inquiry.

Through this single portal, competent authorities will be able to monitor onshore and offshore fund development in Taiwan and conduct analysis for the sake of surveillance and policies. More importantly, the updated Fund Clear website is expected to increase traffic and user rate as well as investor’s exposure to onshore fund information, and therefore brings about not only a more active Taiwan stock fund market but also a more positive industry development.

According to Sherman Lin, Chairman & CEO of TDCC, TDCC has been richly cultivating fund industry for over a decade; the company has already constructed a comprehensive, highly efficient, technological, and mutually beneficial shared platform which serves as the solid support for the industry’s future development toward Financial technology. This time, TDCC has provided investors with a single portal website for integrated fund information inquiry, giving full scope to the economic benefits of platform services. The company will continue to build up shared FinTech platforms for fund market administrators, businesses and investors. TDCC will always be in users’ shoes, generating more dynamic fund information services to sustain continuous and stable development of fund industry.
