Warm love and blood were perfect for this cold winter. In response to the spirit of “A bag of blood to save a life,”TDCC held the eighth annual charitiable blood drive in 2017. Besides donating 10,000 blood bags for Taipei Blood Center, TDCC called up the company personnel and invited employees of all the companies in the same office building to donate blood on November 21. The blood of this entire day amounted to 202 bgas, infusing a stream of warmth into the cold winter days.

As the end of the year was around the corner, local medical institutes were experiencing the peak of blood deficiency. To prevent blood shortage from negatively impacting medical care quality, TDCC held the charitable blood donation event and expected the company employees to rolled up sleeves to contribute blood. Therefore, this action is proof of corporate care concept and resolution for corporate social responsibilities.

Chairman & CEO of TDCC, Sherman Lin pointed out, “Timely blood donation, undelayed love extension.” Blood donation was simple and healthful; blood donors not only turned their precious blood into warm love but also spread it to patients in desperate need. Donationg blood could boost metabolism, fortify immunity and promote health, so this charitable deed literally achieved may things with only one single action. Saving lives at the most crucial moment made this deed even more meaningful. As TDCC held blood drive every year, until then, over 80,000 empty blood bags had been donated and the total amount of blood reached 336,000 cc. TDCC’s high efficiency of the blood drive won compliment and admiration from Taipei Blood Center.

A charity sale also took place on the same day; Kanner Support Group, Down Syndrome Foundation R.O.C., I Can Lohas Factory, Mental and Physical Potential disability Center, Victory Social Welfare Foundation, Yu-Chang Social Welfare Foundation, Visually Impaired Association R.O.C, were all invited to set up stands. Under the promotion and appeal of TDCC’s Ci Xin club, all the TDCC staff and the workers in the building came to the event and participated enthusiastically, making the event lively and exciting. The total amount of the charitable event proceeds and donation was NTD$450,000 and went to charities such as Andrew Food Bank of Andrew Charity Association, Huashan Social Welfare Foundation, and ChangHua County Autism Kenner Parents Association so that more minority groups could benefit from the care and warmth from corporations.
