Once deriving benefit from society, TDCC will definitely return the favor back to society. Thus, TDCC has dedicated to charity work for a long time. This time, TDCC got involved with local art and organized the TDCC Brainstorming Contemporary Arts Award which attracted works from all over Taiwan. The registration period was from July to August 2018. A large number of works–324 pieces were submitted from 172 students at departments of arts from different universities or colleges in Taiwan. By doing this, TDCC hopes participants can get closer to the art pieces.

In the remarks given by Sherman Lin, TDCC Chairman & CEO, he said that this event aimed to encourage more youths and students to display social issues through their artwork. The process of creation will be like a seed planted in their hearts, widening their horizons. At the same time, TDCC also hopes to send aesthetics into all national’s lives, so the exhibition venue will be in the office. Thus, employees and participants can get closer to art in the most natural way. They can open up conversations and have more inspiration and feelings of life when they are discussing the artwork.

Wang Yung-Hsin, SFB Director-General, also mentioned that art could be the sparkle in a wonderful life. She recognized TDCC’s patronage to cultural and artistic events. It is an enterprise with humanistic qualities and corporate social responsibility (CSR) that fosters the innovation of combining traditional techniques and contemporarily art. He has invited critics, artists, and curators to form a jury to select and judge the artwork from a broader perspective. Lin was glad that TDCC organized this event to support young artists through real action. He also hoped that, with this experience, other enterprises could start to care about and value Taiwan’s artistic events.

TDCC will keep supporting artistic events, seeking potential artists, as well as encouraging cultural and creative industry in the future in the hopes that the society will start more trends of creation, have more conversations between culture and society, explore our inner selves with the society as a whole, understand the core value of human civilization, and incorporate humanistic spirit in Taiwan’s society.
