Securities- and Futures-Related Institutions Donate NT$20m to Help with 823 Floods

2018/09/04

Floods inflicted damage in southern Taiwan on August 23 2018, causing national concern. Securities- and futures-related institutions under Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC), including Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE), Taiwan Futures Exchange (TAIFEX), Taiwan Depository & Clearing Corporation (TDCC), and Taipei Exchange (TPEx), made a NT$20 million donation to help with disaster relief as well as post-disaster recovery and reconstruction.

The 823 floods caused severe damage. The funds raised by TWSE, TAIFEX, TDCC, and TPEx will directly go into the special disaster relief account of the Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW). The money in the account will be used to help people affected by the 823 flooding. These financial institutions are helping the people in the south as if they were the people affected by the floods.
