TDCC Corporate and Investor Services Seminar 2018 Has Grand Opening

Taiwan Depository & Clearing Corporation (TDCC) will organize the Corporate and Investor Services Seminar 2018 at Taipei Marriott Hotel on August 22 and 23 2018. The Seminar has invited participants from the US, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong, and countries covered in to the New Southbound Policy, including key financial agencies like Asia-Pacific Central Securities Depository Group (ACG), International Central Securities Depository (ICSD), and foreign custodian banks. Representatives will discuss challenges faced by the depository industry and their ways out to transform and provide better services to institutional and individual investors. Experience and stories will be shared and exchanged. Speakers from the relevant fields from the US and Europe will give speeches on emerging technology, corporate governance on digitalization, and cross-border businesses. Since Taiwan’s competent authority, Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC), has always valued and supported international activities in the financial market, Wellington L. Koo, FSC Chairperson, will personally attend the informative and exciting event.
The Seminar consists of five keynote speeches and four panel discussions. ACG member institutions will share their experience in their services in the market. Executives of the Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation (DTCC), the world-leading e-voting provider Broadridge, Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (SWIFT), and prestigious information technology company IBM will deliver keynote speeches on the ever-changing regulations and clients’ demands. As emerging technology is developing at a rapid pace, traditional depository industry needs coping strategies, and relevant industries also need to expand their services to stay competitive.
As one of the founding members of ACG, TDCC, the organizer, has participated in various ACG events sine 1997 when ACG was founded. TDCC is also a part of three working groups: information exchange, new businesses, and information technology. TDCC has organized ACG8 and ACG19 Annual Meetings as well as CTS1 and CTS7 Training Meetings for Middle-level Executives. TDCC has also signed MOUs with 15 member institutions. ACG members speak highly of TDCC and have voted TDCC, with high favorable rates, to be one of the three executive committee. Taiwan has displayed innovation and soft power of our depository system.
The main goal of the seminar is to build a platform for ACG members to exchange experience and know more about each other’s business development and future planning. The event will increase the efficiency and security of back-office operation. Moreover, the Asia-Pacific region will be able to attract more investment around the globe and stay competitive. Taiwan’s securities-related institutions can also stand out as an essential player in the Asia-Pacific region. As an organizer of the seminar, Taiwan can create a better image, and will be a more active player in the international community.
