2019/12/02
The solemn ceremony of “2019 TSCA Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Awards” took place in the Grand Hotel on November 28th. Following the previous year’s Gold Award for Corporate Sustainability Report, TDCC went a step further this year, winning Platinum Award for Corporate Sustainability Report and for the first time Social Inclusion Award. TDCC Senior Vice President Susan Huang received the awards on behalf of the company.
TSCA Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Awards was founded in 2008; this year, 177 corporations competed for the awards, and the number hit the record high. 373 volunteer judges and 115 renowned experts and scholars were invited, making up a huge evaluation committee of 488 members. The evaluation process follows the principles such as objectivity, fairness, impartiality, and transparency. Through reports, the award-winning corporations revealed their corporate governance, social inclusion, and environmental sustainability, which were connected to the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGS).
What’s worth mentioning is TDCC’s Corporate Sustainability Report, which published in 2019, won the Corporate Sustainability Report Platinum Award and was ranked first in the second category of Finance & Insurance Group. The report was strictly reviewed and evaluated by the third party, thoroughly revealing TDCC’s specific actions and achievements in corporate governance, environmental protection, and social participation. The Platinum Award, again proving judges’ recognition and favor, honored TDCC’s focus on and effort in corporate social responsibility and sustainable development. In addition, TDCC’s Financial Literacy for Youth (FLY) Program, which is the company’s focus of the year, won the single award brought in the special honor “Social Inclusion Awards” for its first-time registration, recognizing TDCC’s endeavor to support disadvantaged college students and to foster future financial talents.
TDCC has been implementing FLY Program since 2015. Exclusively for college students from underprivileged families, the program provides a series of professional financial courses, counselling for license examinations, assistance in strengthening competitive advantage for employment, and financial job matching at the end of the program. The FLY program aims to assist needy youths to obtain stable and well-paid finance jobs, overcome financial stress in their families, flip their lives, and further facilitate Taiwan’s social inclusion.
Looking ahead, TDCC will stick to the three principles: “customer orientation,” “open innovation,” and “platform economy” ; meanwhile, the company will keep abreast of the times, continue providing premium services for the financial market, apply its core competencies to develop deeply in every aspect of the society such as economy and environment, and promote the ideal of sustainability among business partners for the collective effort in fulfilling corporate social responsibility.
