TDCC Obtained ISO 22301 Business Continuity Management System Certification

2020/12/30

As a key part of the country’s infrastructure, TDCC strives to increase its capacity to deal with natural disasters and establish relevant backup systems in case of service interruptions. TDCC recently obtained the ISO 22301 BCMS (Business Continuity Management System) certification, further ensuring investors' rights and contributing to stable market operations.

As the major post-trade infrastructure for securities, futures, and bills markets, TDCC needs to complete same-day market settlements and ensure the accuracy and integrity of data to safeguard the rights of investors. As a result, TDCC began introducing a Business Continuity Management System that complies with the requirements of ISO 22301 in late 2019. A year later, on December 1, 2020, the British Standards Institution (BSI) issued the ISO 22301:2019 BCMS international standard certification to TDCC.

The implementation of ISO 22301 BCMS allows TDCC to examine what is required to comply with the standard, enhance resilience, make organization more responsive, improve overall infrastructure and disaster endurability. The BCMS ensures a timely system recovery in times of interruptions, so TDCC can continue its key operations for the securities, futures, and bills companies.

"The implementation of ISO 22301 BCMS helps prevent future threats to operations, raises employees' awareness regarding crisis management, and maintains the company's ability to continue its key operations while recovering from a disaster in a timely fashion. ISO 22301 BCMS provides the best protection for the normal operations of our country's securities, futures, and bills markets," said TDCC President Han-Chiang Chu.
