TDCC Chairman Bing-huei Lin stated that while the financial industry itself has low carbon emissions, it plays a crucial role in carbon reduction. Through investment decisions, capital allocation, and information disclosure, the financial sector can support various industries in their green transition. In alignment with national net-zero policies, TDCC became the world's first depository institution to achieve carbon neutrality last year and has set a target to reach net-zero by 2030. During this process, TDCC prioritizes carbon credits aligned with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), supports the Global Biodiversity Framework, and actively explores indigenous carbon sink opportunities to promote shared prosperity and sustainability.

The forum gathered distinguished speakers from various fields, including renowned environmental experts, industry professionals, and non-profit organizations. Professor Chiang Ben-Ji and Professor Chen Kai-Hsien from National Taiwan University separately discussed indigenous natural resources and carbon sink management, while Professor Li Jian-Ming from National Taipei University proposed solutions for carbon removal and indigenous carbon sink initiatives. Industry representatives, including Hung Jung-Tsung, Head of Environmental Protection at Honhai(Foxconn) Technology, and Liu De-An, General Manager of Taiwan Carbon Asset Company, shared practical experiences in sustainable carbon reduction and indigenous carbon sink conservation. Additionally, Hsieh Ying-Shih, Chairman of the Environmental Quality Protection Foundation, delivered a keynote on indigenous carbon sinks and climate justice. The discussions fostered collective insights into effective carbon sink strategies, advancing net-zero actions and environmental sustainability.
