TDCC’s eVoting and eMeeting Usage Hits New Highs Dual Services Accelerate ESG Digitalization

2025/07/11

As Taiwan’s shareholder meeting season concluded, the Taiwan Depository & Clearing Corporation (TDCC) has once again set new records for its electronic voting (eVoting) and virtual shareholder meetings (eMeeting) services. These dual e-services have effectively helped investors exercise their shareholder rights, driven ESG digital transformation, and promoted sustainable development of Taiwan's capital markets.

According to TDCC statistics, in 2025, a total of 2,239 TWSE-listed, TPEx-listed and emerging stock companies adopted eVoting for their annual general meetings. For the first time, the total number of electronic votes surpassed 20 million, and the total number of shares voted electronically exceeded 400 billion—both setting new historic highs. The overall eVoting rate reached 60.93%, marking the third consecutive year of growth. In addition to corporate shareholder meetings, two ETFs—Yuanta Taiwan Top 50 and Cathay TAIEX Daily Leveraged 2X—also adopted eVoting for their beneficiaries’ meetings in the first half of the year, achieving impressively high eVoting rates of 86.90% and 100%, respectively.

Beyond eVoting, TDCC’s eMeeting service has also seen wider adoption, as an increasing number of companies opt to use the service. In 2025, a record 120 companies utilized the eMeeting platform. This service allows investors to participate in shareholder meetings online without being limited by location or venue. It also enhances the timeliness and transparency of shareholder meetings, strengthening communication and mutual trust between companies and their shareholders.

Mr. Daniel Chen, President of TDCC, stated that eVoting and eMeeting complement each other, providing issuing companies with a comprehensive solution that spans pre-meeting voting to real-time participation. These services support the digitalization of shareholder services and the institutionalization of corporate governance, aligning Taiwan’s capital market with international standards. TDCC will continue to enhance its services and build a holistic shareholder service ecosystem to advance digital development across the market.
