The 5th TDCC Cup Archery Friendship Tournament, hosted by the Taiwan Depository & Clearing Corporation (TDCC) and organized by the Kaohsiung Municipal Fongsi Junior High School, was held at Nanzih Archery Range in Kaohsiung City on July 4. Nearly 100 young archers from eight elementary and junior high schools across Taiwan gathered to compete in the event. Through its long-term investment in grassroots archery development, TDCC continues to support sports development in rural communities and nurture more of Taiwan's future archery stars.

TDCC Chairman Bing-Huei Lin stated that this year's tournament brought together participants from eight elementary and junior high schools located in Taoyuan, Taichung, Hsinchu, Kaohsiung, Yilan, and Hualien. Most of these schools have long been dedicated to promoting grassroots archery education, particularly in rural areas. By hosting the tournament annually and continuously investing in archery development, TDCC aims to provide talented young people with equal opportunities to pursue their potential while creating a positive cycle of sports development.
Taiwan's national archery team has achieved remarkable success in recent years, consistently delivering outstanding performances at international competitions, including the Archery World Cup and the Asian Cup. These accomplishments demonstrate Taiwan's growing competitiveness in the sport and reinforce archery as one of the nation's key medal prospects at the Olympic Games. Despite these achievements, grassroots archery development continue to face significant disparities in resources between urban and rural areas. For many years, TDCC has focused its support on elementary and junior high schools in rural and underserved communities by providing annual funding for sports development. The company's long-term initiatives include upgrading equipment, providing nutrition subsidies, supporting coaching staff, and sponsoring off-site training programs, enabling young people to train with peace of mind while helping reduce the migration of promising talent away from rural communities.
Chairman Lin noted that archery is not only a test of technical skill but also demands exceptional concentration, mental resilience, and consistency. By providing a competition environment modeled on the standards of official international tournaments, TDCC Archery Friendship Tournament aims to enable grassroots athletes to gain valuable competitive experience, sharpen their skills through competition, and enhance their overall performance.
In the intense individual, team, and mixed doubles events, all competitors from each school gave their best, showcasing their skills and confidence while aiming steadfastly at their dreams. After a full day of fierce competition, the results were announced: In the junior high school team events, Szu Chen Junior High School claimed the boys' team and mixed team championships, while Fuli Junior High School won the girls' team title. In the elementary school team events, Jian Ching Elementary School captured the boys' team championship, Hsiang Shan Elementary School secured the girls' team title, and Dong Ao Elementary School won the mixed team championship.
Looking ahead, TDCC will continue to uphold its commitment to the principles of "Caring for Local Communities and Strengthening Grassroots Sports." Working closely with schools and coaches, the company will further enhance grassroots sports development by helping create a more comprehensive training environment, enabling more young people to see a brighter future through sports while cultivating more internationally competitive athletes for Taiwan.
