To support the government's initiatives to advance financial inclusion and establish Taiwan as an Asian Asset Management Center, while raising public awareness of long-term investing and retirement planning, Taiwan Depository & Clearing Corporation (TDCC) held the Taipei session of the "Compound Your Wealth, Enrich Your Life—Taiwan Individual Savings Account (TISA) Nationwide Roadshow" on July 18 in Taipei. The seminar welcomed representatives from the competent authority, along with financial industry leaders and investment experts, to share their perspectives on long-term investing and personal finance. It attracted a full house, with every seat filled.

Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC) Vice Chairperson Chen Yen-Liang noted that the TISA platform is designed to meet investors' needs at every stage of life. Beyond helping the public cultivate disciplined investing habits, it also serves as a cornerstone of the government's initiative of building Taiwan into an Asian Asset Management Center. Through a structured, long-term, and disciplined approach to investing, TISA can help people steadily accumulate retirement assets and strengthen their financial resilience.
TDCC Chairman Lin Bing-Huei added that since its launch at the end of June last year, TISA has attracted more than 210,000 investors, with total assets under management approaching NT$20 billion — evidence of the public's growing interest in long-term investing and retirement planning. Chairman Lin emphasized the features that set TISA funds apart, including an ultra-low investment threshold, expert-selected funds, and dedicated investment accounts, together with the benefits of no subscription fees and lower management fees. He noted that investors who remain invested over a 30-year investment horizon can significantly enhance their retirement savings through the power of compounding.
The Taipei session featured an impressive lineup of speakers: Yuanta Securities Investment Trust Chairman Liu Tsung-Sheng, Cathay Securities Investment Trust Senior Vice President Cheng Li-Cheng, Financial Expert Chu Yueh-Chung, and Unique Satellite TV (USTV) News Anchor Joyce Liu. The speakers shared practical insights into the TISA platform, global asset allocation, retirement planning, and long-term investing. Liu Tsung-Sheng explained how to leverage TISA's NT$1,000 minimum investment requirement and expert-selected funds to harness the power of compounding and work toward financial freedom. Cheng Li-Cheng offered an in-depth analysis of how investors can use TISA's expert-selected funds to diversify their portfolios across Taiwan and global markets. Chu Yueh-Chung drew on his professional expertise to break down global economic and market trends in plain language, and shared practical principles for asset allocation through regular dollar-cost averaging. To conclude the seminar, Joyce Liu shared her own investment playbook: disciplined contributions and long-term holding. She also suggested that retirees allocate their stock holdings equally between high-dividend and growth stocks, while setting aside two years of living expenses for contingencies.
TDCC noted that in its first year, TISA has gradually established a new model of long-term investing for the general public. The platform has attracted younger investors seeking to build their retirement savings through regular dollar-cost averaging, while a growing number of middle-aged and older investors are using TISA to rebalance their portfolios. Going forward, TDCC will continue working with the competent authority, fund houses, and financial institutions to broaden TISA's reach, making long-term investing a new part of everyday financial planning.
