TDCC Empowers Age-Inclusive Trust Service Fund Transaction Platform Provides Care Trust Services for Customers of Distributors

2026/08/24

In support of the Financial Supervisory Commission’s (FSC) policies promoting age-inclusive finance, and in response to the financial needs of an aging society, Taiwan Depository & Clearing Corporation (TDCC) continues to enhance the services of Fund Transaction Platform. A new Care Trust Service will officially launch on August 24.

By connecting the Fund Transaction Platform with banks’ trust services, the new service will enable investors to make more flexible use of their existing funds, while facilitating retirement financial planning, daily-life and long-term care arrangements, and the management of assets after death.

TDCC Chairman Lin Bing-Huei added that in the past, funds purchased by investors through distributors on the Fund Transaction Platform were registered under the names of the respective distributors as required by law. As a result, unlike conventional securities, these funds could not be transferred directly to an investor’s account under the trust institution through book-entry transfer.

The newly introduced Care Trust function removes the existing requirement for investors to first redeem their fund holdings, convert them into cash, and then place the cash into a trust. The new service not only reduces additional transaction costs for investors, but also eases the operational burden of Fund house for fund subscription and redemption transactions. By making funds more convenient to incorporate into trust arrangements, the service is expected to encourage more people to consider funds as a long-term investment vehicle for retirement planning.

Chairman Lin emphasized that, through this service, distributors participating in TDCC’s Fund Transaction Platform will be able to establish deeper cross-industry partnerships with banks and provide Care Trust Services to their customers. This will enable distributors to connect customers with trust services through an integrated service model, helping improve the efficiency of retirement asset management and creating a mutually beneficial financial ecosystem among investors, distributors, banks and other financial industry participants.

As Taiwan faces the continued aging of its population and growing demand for retirement planning, the new service represents not only a technological enhancement in support of the government’s age-inclusive finance initiatives, but also a concrete demonstration of TDCC’s ongoing efforts to promote digital innovation in financial services and further strengthen its financial asset depository platform.

Looking ahead, TDCC will continue to work with financial industry partners to develop inclusive and user-friendly financial services, integrating digital technology and cross-industry resources to provide more efficient and flexible solutions. Through these efforts, TDCC aims to help people plan for retirement with greater confidence and make appropriate arrangements for their future assets, while contributing to the development of a more inclusive and sustainable financial ecosystem.
