TDCC has been actively optimizing “The Inquiry Systems for Investors’ Central Depository Data” to diversify and facilitate the inquiry channels. Citizens can inquire about the central depository data of the investment of their own, their underage children, and their late family members 24/7 online through the system instead of doing so at TDCC’s counter in person.

With a Citizen Digital Certificate, a chip bank card from one of the 21 banks, and an order certificate from a securities dealer, citizens can connect to “The Inquiry Systems for Investors’ Central Depository Data” on a computer to inquire about the central depository data of their investment targets consolidated under one ID. They can also download the mobile TW FidO APP. After completing registration on the Ministry of the Interior’s website, setting a connection to their cellphone or tablet computer, and passing facial or fingerprint identification, citizens can start the inquiry process.

In addition to citizens’ own data, they can also inquire about the data of their underage children through this system. They can log onto the system and then go directly to the MyData platform of the National Development Council, apply to the Ministry of the Interior for the kindred record, and submit it to TDCC. The application is complete after the legal relationship is verified. Besides, if a successor would like to inquire about the data of a late family member, the successor can first apply for the electronic Household Registration Transcript or the Household Registration Transcript of the Inheritance Case on the Ministry of the Interior’s website. After the file as proof is uploaded to the inquiry system and verification is passed, the application is complete. The whole process is quite efficient and convenient.

TDCC President Han-Chiang Chu points out that recently the COVID-19 pandemic has been severe, so citizens in need of the inquiry services shall turn to online services instead of physical inquiry as much as possible. The inquiry result statement can be downloaded after the application and payment are processed online. The trouble from traffic can be avoided, and the inquiry charge is comparatively lower. Therefore, citizens are advised to make more use of online inquiry to reduce the risks of infection when going out.
