Walsin Lihwa Holds Its Live-Stream-Aided Shareholder Meeting to Demonstrate Its Corporate Governance and Digitalization Practices

2022/05/13

Walsin Lihwa (1605) held its 2022 shareholder meeting on the 13th, and the company adopted the live-stream-aided form to comply with the FSC’s promotion of shareholder meeting digitalization policy and to meet the needs of disease prevention. Following Powerchip Semiconductor Manufacturing Corp (PSMC) and King’s Town Bank, Walsin Lihwa is the third company this year and the first company in the traditional industry to employ the live-stream-aided model for its shareholder meeting. This practice carries the symbolic meaning of live-streamed shareholder meeting promotion.

In recent years, Walsin Lihwa has been devoted to implementing corporate governance and has put efforts into ESG issues. The company’s corporate governance ranking is in the top 5% among listed companies, and it was rated by Forbes as one of the best employers in the world in 2020. Therefore, Walsin Lihwa is indeed the pioneer in the traditional industry to promote corporate governance and ESG. In response to digital transformation, the company’s shareholder meeting in 2022 was aided by a live stream, and shareholders are provided with more diverse and efficient participation channels.

Due to the severity of the pandemic and the upcoming peak season of shareholder meetings in May and June, TDCC has stipulated Disease Prevention Operating Guideline for Shareholder Meetings and conducted a rolling plan to make adjustments for the changing pandemic conditions to provide a guideline for publicly owned corporations. TDCC also appeals to shareholders to adopt electronic voting to exercise shareholders’ rights and achieve disease prevention effectively. If any shareholders would like to join a meeting or be involved in a motion discussion, they can use the “Shareholder Meeting Livestream Platform” to attend in the video conferencing form. Also, they can watch meeting live stream, raise questions, and cast votes.

According to Senior Vice President of Issuer Services, Zhen-Zhen Huang, in addition to the three companies PSMC, King’s Town Bank, and Walsin Lihwa, which have already held live-stream-aided shareholder meetings, there will be another 70 companies holding shareholder meetings with live stream function this year. The shareholders of these companies can register on TDCC’s Shareholder Virtual Meeting Platform (https://www.stockvote.com.tw/evote/index.html) then to participate in shareholder meetings online. Please see more details on TDCC’s website—” Shareholder Virtual Meeting Platform Area” for the instructions to attend online shareholder meetings.
